UAF is now hosting an Ubuntu repository locally courtesy of Kent Overstreet. This rocks. It’s going to make my life so much better. Here’s the link:
http://ubuntu.cs.uaf.edu
To use it, put this in your /etc/apt/sources.list (Change feisty to whatever version you’re using):
deb http://ubuntu.cs.uaf.edu/ubuntu/ feisty main universe multiverse restricted
deb-src http://ubuntu.cs.uaf.edu/ubuntu/ feisty main universe multiverse restricted
deb http://ubuntu.cs.uaf.edu/ubuntu feisty-backports main restricted universe multiverse
deb-src http://ubuntu.cs.uaf.edu/ubuntu feisty-backports main restricted universe multiverse
Then, do sudo apt-get update. It shouldn’t error. Then, proceed as usual with an apt command of some sort.
Mega Awesome:
29% [351 openoffice.org-help-en-us 4957382/9767kB 50%] 1590kB/s 7m10s
That’s 7m10s estimated time for a dist-upgrade @ 1.5 MB/s (yes, thats megabytes per second).
